Guide to adding trailers to trucks


In order for a truck to pull a trailer, it not only must have towing support, but the trailer model needs to be added to the trucks trailer list. This guide will show you the steps on how to do this

First Ensure the truck has the capability. Either test it in game by trying to connect a vanilla trailer:
boattrailer or trailersmall
OR seeing if the attach_female node exists on the model through OpenIV by opening the vehicle .yft file

Second Open the vehicles.meta file and find the section

Third Here you will add the model names of trailers you want the truck to connect to. They need to be added between <trailers> and </trailers> and with the <Item> </Item> tags around it.
Example: <Item>thauler</Item>

Fourth Save and close the file. Restart your server. If done correctly, your truck will now be able to connect and pull the listed trailers.
